For the QAFP High-Achiever, the Reward Goes Beyond Personal Pride

His decision to take the QAFP course was driven by a desire to pursue growth in his career. As she looked for ways to expand her knowledge and skills in financial planning, she discovered the QAFP designation.

“I got a lot of support and encouragement from my leaders,” she says. “They agreed that QAFP would be a great next step for me.”

According to Robin, the focus of the QAFP program is on holistic financial planning that aligns well with RBC’s practices. Rather than looking at just one area, it considers various aspects of the client’s personal financial situation such as wealth, retirement and investment planning. Those who complete the course come with the ability to bring all those aspects together to help clients achieve their goals.

“I really believe that financial planning is more than just numbers and dollars and laws. When you do it right, it really becomes about the people,” she says. “That’s where the opportunity to look at case studies or review real-world scenarios can be really helpful in applying the material you’re learning about.”

Robin says that he felt confident in taking the exam because of the preparations he had already done. She didn’t rely on shortcuts or secret formulas; Instead, he took the opportunity to visit various educational resources and practice exams. In addition to making sure she put the required time into the study, she contacted other financial planners and mentors to talk about various practice scenarios.
