To celebrate Women’s History Month, we’re sharing a list of 14 of the most influential women in real estate today, assembled by Quinn PR. The list includes women who hold leadership roles in their respective companies, and who bring diverse expertise from retail real estate to multifamily to hotels and short-term rentals.
Since 1989, The Crew Network has sought to bring together women involved in many aspects of commercial real estate to exchange information, develop business contacts, and help each other succeed professionally. is of. One of the group’s larger projects is the Benchmark Study, which has produced a quadrupling of the commercial real estate industry’s progress in improving its diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. Its most recent study, completed in 2020, showed a 5.4 percent increase in female respondents aged 39 and under, indicating a growing generation of young and emerging female professionals in the industry. In addition, more women than ever held brokerage positions (29 percent), a 6 percent increase from 2015 and more women (32 percent) are interested in the C-suite, a 4 percent increase from 2015.
However, the study also found that only 36.7 percent of commercial real estate industry professionals were women, a percentage that hasn’t changed much over the past 15 years. In addition, women are earning less than men. In 2020, the fixed pay gap between the genders was 10.2 per cent and the commission and bonus gap was 55.9 per cent. And overall, women still hold only 9 percent of C-suite positions in commercial real estate.
