Your client may be suffering from Irrevocable Life Insurance Trust (ILIT) fatigue. This syndrome occurs when clients question the prudence of holding an ILIT that has existed for many years. Customers can experience this fatigue for a number of reasons. For example, they may question their choice of beneficiaries or be concerned about how the beneficiaries will use the money. Or maybe they now have grandchildren, which they didn’t have when ILIT was created.
