Canada Pension Fund beats peers for disclosure transparency
The ranking is based on four factors – governance, cost, performance, and responsible investment (RI) – with scores by AUM based on an analysis of hundreds of disclosures from each of the 15 largest pension fund organizations in the country.
Canada has the highest overall score, but ranks second for performance and third for both cost and responsible investing.
Norway, the Netherlands, the United States and Australia complete the overall top 5, while Chile and Mexico are trailing.
Improving RI Disclosures
In international analysis, transparency of disclosure for responsible investing has improved year-over-year, something that investors regularly say.
“We are pleased to see year-over-year improvement in the disclosure of responsible investments,” commented Michael Reid, CEM’s Relationship Manager and Lead for Benchmark. “Specifically, more funds chose to measure their efforts and contrast actual results with their mid- and long-term goals.”
